MEET OUR TEAM
Sally grew up in Calgary, Alberta and moved to BC in 2007. As a child and teenager, Sally always enjoyed playing sports and being fit. She enjoyed sharing her passions of fitness and sports through coaching at a youth level as an adult.
She received her Child and Youth Care Diploma through Mount Royal College and later, the Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate Program. She embarked into the fitness world as a personal trainer. Rugby training/coaching took up much of her spare time.
Sally is happily married to husband Todd, and they have two beautiful, talented and funny children Sarah and Nicholas. After having Sarah, it was then the family moved to BC. While living in Grand Forks, it was there Sally found a passion for Jazzercise and after attending just 15 classes, she realized she wanted to teach, and 6 months later she was a Certified Instructor.
Sally taught as an Associate Instructor for 3 years, when their Benson crew made their move to Vernon in August 2013. She and Todd chose Vernon for its location, weather, and opportunities for their children, as well as career advancement for the two of them.
Jazzercise Vernon opened on November 9th 2013. She perseveres to enlighten Vernon’s population of this diverse and challenging program and enjoys getting out into the community and networking with others.
When teaching, Sally coaches the class to be very particular with body alignment and correct technique, and ensures that all have a safe, fun, and effective workout.
Sally teaches 8 formats offered at her studio – Dance Mixx, Fusion, Core, Interval Dance Mixx and Interval Fusion, Strength60, Strength45, and Strike.
Hi all, what do I want you to know about me? I’m a member of Girl Guides of Canada, fun & learning all in one! I also belong to Beta Sigma Phi (Women’s friendship organization). I recently retired from School District 22 and in my spare time I’m a Mary Kay Consultant.
I became certified in May of 2016 and I teach the Jazzercise Lite format. I have been attending Jazzercise classes since 2013 when our studio opened. I love this program, every 3-4 minutes the music changes and we do something different and before you know it the hour is up. The different types of classes keep it interesting and challenging. Hard work – yes, lots of fun – absolutely!
My name is Michelle Loxam and I am one of your Jazzercise instructors. I was born and raised here in Vernon and spent 5 years living in Grand Forks before returning to the Okanagan in 2011. I have been married for 15 years and have two lovely children ages 10 and 7. When I'm not teaching Jazzercise I work for the RCMP as a Police Dispatcher/911 Operator which I have now been doing for 18 years. I discovered Jazzercise while we were living in Grand Forks and was immediately hooked. I attended regular classes for two years before becoming a certified instructor in 2010 and have enjoyed sharing my passion for this program with all of my clients.
Born in New Westminster, BC and moved to Sidney, Vancouver Island where I grew up on a marina my father ran. I left home at 17 and moved to Cranbrook where I spent three years and got married. I then moved overseas were we spent three years in North Wales and England travelling all over Europe. We returned to Canada in 1984 living for 3 years in Pine Point North West Territories before settling in the Lower Mainland. I worked for the past 30 years in the Financial Industry for several Credit unions retiring this July when we moved to Vernon.
I was always a heavy person but fairly fit and could never stick to an exercise program until I discovered Jazzercise in March of 2007. I was immediately hooked, loving not only the exercise but also the community Jazzercise provides. With very bad joints, in 2014 I used a combination of Jazzercise and Weight Watchers to lose 60 lbs and have kept it off loving the new me. I love all water sports with paddle boarding being my new love. I also enjoy hiking and trying new outdoor adventures recently completing the Rugged Maniac obstacle course.
I also love watching my 5 grandsons aged 3 - 16 in their many sports and activities.
